The Balmoral Minstrels.
Mr Macdonald and wife gave, last evening, a most pleasing entertainment at the Theatre Royal, and although the attendance was not large, those present testified by loud plaudits the pleasure afforded by the performers. Of Mra Macdonald it may be fairly said that as a violinist, cantatrice or actress she is simply a marvel of cleverness. The most difficult passages, on admittedly the most difficult instrument, appear to occasion her not the slightest trouble and last night secured for her very high eacomiums from persons well able to judge. Mr Macdonald was successful in his rendition of the songs he sang, and he also proved himself a clever accompanist. The entertainment was further enlivened by local talent. A most enjoyable evening was spent by those present and it is to be regretted that the counter attraction of the organ recital prevented a large number jrom attending.
