Another Harbor Difficulty.

A Poetic contributor, who takes a great interest in public affairs, sends the following:— Who passed the Harbor Bill ? “ I did,” says Sam Locke, “ With Grey at my back, I passed the Harbor Bill." Who voted against the scheme ? There were only two, But no one knows who ; That voted against the scheme. Who floated the Big Loan ? “ ’Twas me,” says the Bank, “ ’Tis us you must thank For floating the Big Loan.” “ Who prepared the plana?” Says Thompson, R.E., “ They're stolen from me, I really prepared the plans.” Who approved of the plan ? “ Not I,” says Blackett; “ They got me to back it, But I didn’t approve of the plan.’. Who started the works? “ I," says Thompson, J., I sounded the Bay, And I started the works. Who paid the rate ? “ I did,” says Whitmore, “ But not a bit more Will I pay of that rate.” Who passed the Amending Bill ? “ I did,” says Graham, “That honor I claim. I passed the Amending Bill.” Who stopped the works? “ We did,” says the Board, “ Because we can’t afford The penalty, we stopped the works.” Who’ll pay the piper ? “ We,” say the ratepayers, " We’re loaded with cares, But we'll have to pay the piper.’ *
