To-day's Hapara Fete
The annual Fete in connection with Holy Trinity Church takes place at the Hapara this afternoon, and there is every promise of an even greater success than on previous occasions. There has been some talk of closing places of business from 2 this afternoon, bo as to give a half-holi lay in place of the Tuesday, but so far no concerted action has been decided on. In any case, if the fine weai her keeps up, the generosity of Messrs Stevenson, Tansley, and Little in providing free conveyance to the ground will be largely availed of. The Garrison Band have kindly consented to assist, and music will be one of the main attractions, a concert commencing at 7-30- The gates open at 2.30, and tea commences at 5. Provision is to be made for a treat for the children, in conjunction with the main event. The Hapara ground B are well worth a visit at any time, quite apart from all other enjoyments. Mr Tansley’s brake will leave the drill shed at two o'clock.
