Tax first heat of the Gisborne Bowing Club's trial fours will be rowed to-morrow afternoon at half-past five. This race will be betwee Bourn’s and Green’s crews, and the winner ef the first heat will row Miller’s crew in the final heat, A slight change has bean made in two of the crews since the names were previously published. They now stand as followsßourn stroke, Bullen 8, Sheet 2, Chrisp bow; Miller stroke, Bpurdle 8, Adai 9, Clayton bow; Green stroke, Booth 8, Teat 2, Young bow. As soon as these races are decided, the Club intend picking crews for double-scull races, for which Dr Pollen has kindly presented two valuable cups. Hanlan, the ex-champion, has expressed an opinion that he is likely to stop in Australia, preferring Melbourne for a residence. A Sydney reporter, writing before the last match, says that Beach told him that if he ever met Hanlan again he would leave him so far behind that he would never finish. His brag was not fulfilled by the match. At the ias, meeting of the committee of the Christchurch Regatta Olub correspondence was read from the secretaries of the Napier, Gisborne, Timaru, Port Ohalmers, Invercargill, Star (Wellington), and Wellington Bowing Clubs, re entering for various events at the regatta.
