Scented fans are the fashion in Paris. The framework is made of rose, lemon, or sandal wood, which on being warmed by the hot air of the theatre give out a strong and delicious perfume.
A telegram from London, dated lsec. 3, announces an advance in the price of wool. Superior qualities of greasy wool ruled at an advance of one penny on the last sales, and inferior greay wools have advanced by one half-penny. Latest information received from Perth states that the convict Thompson has been re-captured and sentenced to three years in irons. Hughes, the bushranger, was also sentenced to three years in irons, while the other escapee, Jarvis, was committed for trial.
