Mr J. B. Scott has received the following telegram from Liddy, agent for the Majeroni Company: —“Reserve hall for three nights, commencing November 17. Trying to arrange return trip.” It is to be hoped that th* arrangement will be successfully complete!. fur then Gisborne people would indeed have a great dramatic treat in store for them.
The members of the Fire Brigade met for practice last night. It was originally intended to take the engine down as far as the wharf and have a practice there, but the horse brought down to the shed to drag it became so restive and unmanr g able that the idea had to be abandoned. However there was a very sati-faetory practice, 600 feet of hose being run out and water thrown through three jets. It will be remembered that at the May competition one of the losing team a challenged any other five men to a competition. Thia challenge has been accepted. Out of these teams the Superintends it will choose five men to represent Gisborne fa the annual competition at Christ(hutch.
