The Burgling Epidemic.
WELLINGTON’S TROUBLES. [Per New Zealand Press Agency.] Wellington, last night. The burglary epidemic still goes merrily along, niter " Lord Tylers ” adventures came the artistic effect of a man who scaled the verandah posts of a fashionable residence in Hill street in the “ West End ” and walked through the upper part of the house while the family were at dinner on the ground floor. Last night the premises of Mrs Hoffer, a fancy dealer, In Cuba street were explored, property to the amount of about £5O being taken, and this afternoon the residence of Captain Bose, agent of N.Z. Shipping Co., was entered. On the servant girl opportunely appearing on the scene the burglar hastily decamped. Godber’s, the well-known baker, was also entered last night, but the robber was frustrated in his efforts by Mrs Godber who hurried him off without ceremony.
