The large and hitherto unoccupied hotel in Northumberland-avenue, London, originally designed the Norihum-berland-avenue JHotel, has been purchased by a company" with a share capital of £200,000, add it is to be opened under the new title of the “ Hotel Victoria.’, It is described as “ the largest hotel in the world.” Wanganui local companies do not thrive over wpll to read the following paragraph : —As an indication of the state of the share market, we quote the prices offered for shares in local enterprises at this same sale:—Wanganui River Steam Navigation Company £1 paid up, lOd each (taken) Heads Railway £5 paid up, lOd (offered).—Wanganui Herald.
