Italy’s Trusteeship For Somaliland
NEW YORK, November 10. The United Nations Political Committee to-day decided to recommend that Italy, aided by an Advisory Council of three States, be granted a trusteeship over Italian Somaliland until it becomes independent in ten years’ time. The resolution was carried by 48 votes to seven, with four abstentions. The Soviet group and Ethiopia and Yugoslavia voted against the resolution. New Zealand, Pakistan, Sweden and Liberia abstained. .
