N.Z. Import Licenses To Have Longer Availability

WELLINGTON, Nov 7. In the event of goods not arriving in New Zealand by June 30, 1950, the licenses will be available for their importation after that date. This advice has been given by the Comptroller of Customs, Mr D. G. Sawers, in reply to a question by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce regarding rhe period of validity of licenses granted for imports' from Canada and the United States during the first six months of 1950. “It is desired that imports from dollar sources or payment thereior before the end of June, 1950, should be kept to a minimum, and, in submitting applications for licenses, regard should be had for that requirement,’ added Mr Sawers.
