Women’s Institutes

The October meeting of the Paroa Women’s Institute was held recently >n the Paroa Hall, Mrs. Price presiding over a good attendance. An invitation to the Runanga birthday party was received. Mrs. Hughes gave a very interesting report on the halt' yearly Federation meeting at Stillwater. The roll call was “An amusing incident.” A demonstration on tatting was given by Mrs. Wallace. The competitions resulted: Plain Scones: Mrs Cochrane 1, Mrs Fagen 2, Mrs. Russ 3. Article from yard of material: —Mrs. Cochrane 1, Mrs. Taylor 2, Mrs. Teague 3. Supper was served by the hostesses Mesdames Fairhall, Elley and Honey.
