RUNANGA MINERS’ DONATION TO LABOURS’ FIGHTING FUND

The members of the Runanga State Miners’ Union, as earlier reported, decided recently to assist th e Fighting Fund of the Labour Party. The effect of this decision is that the Fund will benefit to the extent of more than £4OO. The members of the Union engaged at the Liverpool State colliery have donated to the Fund a sum of £243, whilst the members engaged at the Strongman State mine have contributed £175, making a total of £4lB. MINERS GIVE £169 FOR HEALTH CAMPS The Runanga State Miners’ Union has raised in aid of the Health Camp a sum of almost £l7O. At Liverpool mine health stamps to the value of £l2'4 have been sold to the men, while the miners at Strongman colliery have taken up a levy of five shillings per man —the equivalent of 10s worth of stamps—and without taking stamps have provided £45 for the Health Camps.
