POLICY AGAINST PAKISTAN
N.Z.P.A.—Reuter. (Pec 9.10) KARACHI, Oct 11. The Pakistan Minister of Commerce, Hazlur Rahman, alleged that India had “instituted” unfriendly and discriminatory practices” against Pakistan. He said that India’s failure to recognise Pakistan’s decision not to devalue the rupee had now brought inter-Dominion trade to a standstill.
Hazlur Rahman added: “India has set herself to force down the price of raw jute by unilateral decisions winch, if successful, would involve an unnecessary sacrifice of its dollar earning. - for the sterling area.’ ( He said that India would see that i her interest lay, not ? in crippling her trade with Pakistan, but in expanding I it. 1
