m.v. “AWAHOU” REMAINS AFLOAT
P.A. AUCKLAND, Oct. 11 A cable received by the Auckland “Star” from its Suva correspondent says: The motorship “Awahou’s” engine room is floded. The ship “Lakemba” arrived at the scene, north of Fiji at 3 o’clock this morning. She took off seven passengers. The crew of twenty-two are remaining aboard, awaiting the arrival of a Government tug which is expected in the afternoon.
