Watersiders’ Reply to Labour Minister

WELLINGTON, October 10. Mr T. Hill, secretary of the New Zealand Watersiders’ Union, said today: “Mr McLagan has had his answer—every branch we addressed passed resolutions of no-confidence in the Minister of Labour and confidence in the national executive of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Union’’. He was referring to the' tour of South Island ports that he and the national president, Mr H. Barnes, have completed. Th e ports visited included Nelson and the West Coast, as well as the main ports. The visit had been left until the watersiders' had had a fortnight to read the Government pamphlet about waterfront disputes, added Mr Hill.
