WHIPSTER IN FORM FOR FORBURY PARK Whipster will probably see a short price at Forbury Park to-morrow when the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s Spring meeting will open. The Quite Sure gelding has been a model of consistency, his last four starts having produced two seconds, a third and a win on the first day at New Brighton. On that occasion he began from 24 yards, and was always within striking distance of the leaders. When the pressure was applied he soon silenced the opposition, to win with something in hand. . A genuine pacer, he is at home in any kind of ground. Betting will be under the win and place system and the following horses.' may come in for support. The track is reported to be in firstclass order for the South Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting to be held at Washdyke to-morrow, when the big race of the day will be the Tescheimaker Handicap. Thirteen have paid up in this event, but the majority of those engaged have littleto recommend them for a race ol this description. Leyma Fancied in Masterton Cup

Good fields are carded for the Masterton Racing Club’s meeting to be held to-morrow. Several of those engaged in the Masterton Cup have shown up of late, the best of which may be Leyma, which scored a convincing win at Carterton at his last start. Previous to that the Martarma gelding showed up among the better class at Trentham, and with J. A. McFarlane in the saddle tomorrow, he will probably be one of the best backed. The win and place totalisators will operate, and the following horses may give a good account of themselves.
