AGA KHAN’S JEWELS OFFERED BACK IF THE REWARD IS PAID
CASABLANCA, Aug. 18 An offer to hand over to Begum and Aga Khan their jewels stolen in return for the reward offered by the Begum and the insurers was made to-day in a letter received by the Editor of a Moroccan evening newspaper. The letter has been handed to the police. It was signed with initials. It said the writer had the most important part of the jewels in his possession and would return them if the reward were paid. “If the police make an appointment through your paper with the assurance asked for we may be able to come to terms.” The Begum’s jewels were stolen on August 3 by armed hold-up men, who stopped the Aga Khan’s car in Canness.
