Eastern Bloc Checks Jews

(Rec. 11.30). LONDON, March 23. Reporting the worsening of relations between Israel and the countries of the Eastern bloc, the Daily Telegraph’s Tel Aviv correspondent says that Hungary has ordered the expulsion of ten Zionist instructors, who are said to be Israeli citizens. The correspondent points out that both Hungary and Rumania had previously banned all Zionist; propaganda, including the teachand and learning of Hebrew, and that Poland and Czechoslovakia are believed to be preparing similar repressions. Officials of the Israeli Legations in the Eastern bloc complain that they are being isolated and treated “just like representatives of the Western Powers”. He adds that efforts are being made to reverse this anti-Zionist attitude among the Eastern States, but that Israelis are not hopeful of success.
