FUTURE OF SUNKEN ARAHURA DREDGE

The arrival in Greymouth from Sydney of Mr \V. J. Ellis, managingdirector of Arahura Gold Dredging Ltd., and Mr Williams, oi Melbourne, who has been appointed salvage assessor by Lloyd’s group of underwriters, holders of the insurances on the sunken and badly damaged Arahura dredge, will soon determine the ’inure of the dredge. After the assessor has made an m spection of the general conditions at tlie site, an early decision will be made as to whether it is practicable to restore the dredge to working order, or whether ii is to be regarded as a total loss, from an insurance point of view.
