Mr and Mrs J. Thomson, of Greymouth, leave by car to-day on a honeymoon tour of the South Island.
Mr Ben Roberts, former Minister of Agriculture, returned to New Zealand yesterday, after an extended holiday in Britain. He was accompanied by Mis Roberts.
The Buller Rugby Union has decided to nominate Mr L. V. Carmine, of Wellington, and 'Mr M. F. Nichols, of Petone, for the position of manager and assistant manager respective?" of the New Zealand Rugby team to tour South Africa.
Mr M. L. McGlashan, formerly of Greymouth, junior lecturer in chemistry, since taking his M.Sc. degree in 1946, at Canterburv University, has been now appointed lecturer in chemistry at the college.
The funeral of the late Mrs Mary Boddy took place at the Karoro cemetery yesterday morning. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church by the Rev. Father T. Farrell, who also conducted the service at the graveside.
