Sales of Sections at Kaiata to be Considered
Applications for consent to the sale at £l2 each, of two sections m a new nine-section sub-division near the golf links at Kaiata were con sidered at a sitting of the Westlano Land Sales Committee in Greymouth yesterday morning. The vendors were Muir Bros. (Mr C. R. and the purchasers, C. E. Matson and R. Eder. The valuer for the State Advances Corporation, I. 1. McMillan, said that seeing that the committee had placed a value 1 £lO5 on sections in Coates s sub division and that those under consideration were lower-lying and in rougher state with a southerly instead of a more favourable noitherly aspect, he assessed the value *of the lots at £BO. „ The valuer for the vendor, G. l. Shallcrass, said that the township comprised a total of 30 to 35 h 0 Twelve of these sections had been sold in the early 1900 s for £10.) each. He valued the sections m question at £ll5 for the larger and £llO for the smaller. Pie added that the sections had been cleared and were flat, fertile, and dry. . The committee reserved its decision until an inspection of the area had been made.
