Ongley said that seventyfive New Zealand diviners of all ages and occupations were tested for their claimed ability to divine various things from water to human ailments, but the results were so ludicrous as not to need statistical examination. One diagnosed varicose veins in a wooden leg. In no type of divination did any diviner show any sign of reliability, Dr Ongley added.
