“NILE” RETURNS TO JACKSON’S BAY

A radio message received in Greymouth at eight o’clock last evening from Mr. D .J. Skelton, owner-skip-per of the 45-ton .steam trtiwler, “Nile,” reported that the vessel was sheltering at Open Bay Island, ten miles seaward of Jackson’s Bay. . The message added that a bilge pump was borrowed from the Westport trawler, “Diane,” and the “Nile” numped dry. The “Nile” left Bruce Bay-at noon yesterday, and arrived without incident at Open Bay Island eight hours later. It is expected that the “Nile” will herth at Jackson’s Bay this morning, and unload the deck cargo of 25 tons of sheet tin for making whitebait tins, petrol and oil.
