TOKOMARU BAY WHARF DISPUTE SETTLED
GISBORNE, Sept. 9. After nine weeks of idleness as a result of a watersiders’ wage dispute, cargo-handling operations have been resumed at the East Coast port or Tokomaru Bay. Two coastal vesseis are now loading wool and frozen meat for transhipment to Napier.. The dispute has been the subject of negotiations for a week with the Waterfront Industry Commission. The proposals drafted were accepted by the watersiders on a trial basis, but the terms have not been disclosed.
