The ex-President of Czechoslovakia,. Dr. Benes, who resigned some time ago, is reported to be visibly losing strength. At the end of the pesent month, Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, Prime Minister, will leave for London to attend the conference of British Commonwealth Prime Ministers. ' Princess Margaret, left Balmoral on Thursday night on the first stage of a journey to Holland to attend tne installation "of Princess Julianna as Queen of the Netherlands. Princess Margaret, accompanied by a personal maid, travelled south in a special sleeping car attached to the London express. The funeral of Mrs Johannah Connolly, of Runanga, took place yesterday morning at ivaroro cemetery. Kequiem Mass was celebrated at the sacred Heart Church, Runanga,' by the Rev. Father McMonagle, who also conaucteu the service at tne graveside, there was a large attendance of mourners. There was a large attendance including many ex-servicemen at tne lunerai yesterday at HokitiKa of the iate Mi- Vvalter J. Smitn. Requiem Mass* was celebrated at St Mary’s Church by the Rev. Father Lordan, who also officiated at the graveside. The death occurred yesterday morning at Hokitika of Mr Archibald Lntle, who until recently, was engaged in the farming industry tor many years m tne Konerangi district. A son of the late Archibald Little, he previously had worked at his lather s uoot store in Hokitika. Mr Little had recently retired and taken up residence in Hokitika with his wife and family. He is survived by a sister, Mrs Brown (Hokitika) and a brother, Mr W. iLttle (Koiterangi). Fourteen West Coast apopintees are among six hundred new justices of the Peace, who have been appointed by the Governor-General (Sir Bernard Freyberg), V.C.), and this appointments will be gazetted. The West Coast apopintments are: —P. Brereton (Kotuku), J. J. Campbell (Inangahua), J. J. Coghlan (inangahua), C. C. Coxall (Inangahua), J. Deilaca (Reefton), B. Gough (Ross), R. J.
