Motions of condolence were passed to tne relatives oT the late Mrs coimoiiy, an oid and respected resident or Kunanga, and sympathy was also expressed with Mis Gough on the recent ueatli of her sister-in-law. Members stuou in silence as a mane or respect. A card and snapshots were received trom Mrs Alderton at present on holiaay m cmgiand. • ’ Members who attended the social at ivioana gave a brief report and the delegate to the August meeting or the Westland L.R.C. gave her monthly report. i-’reliminary arrangements were made for a shop day which Is to be neid on November 12. It was reported that already a quantity ot goods had come to hand. . A beautiful silver cup was receiyed from a donor interested in fostering speech making among the women ot the various branches and a. vote oi thanks was passed to the donor, ft was decided to invite all women bona fide members of. Labour Party branches under the .jurisdiction of tne Westland L.R.C. to participate in the competition and that the secretary forward details to each branch.
