OBITUARY
Mr Jack Williams Mr Jack Williams, formerly of the Union Hotel, Greymouth, died early yesterday, aged 73 years. He was employed on the waterfront and at the Greymouth abattoir for- some years, and retired ten years ago. He was an active member of the old Karoro Sports Club. Mr Williams, whose wife and daugter predeceased him about 30 years ago, is survived by a sister, Mrs Dnncliffe, and a brother, Mr Charles Williams, both of Westport. The funeral will, take place at the Karoro Cemetery this afternoon, after a service at Bellamy’s Chapel. MR THOS. WILLS The death occurred yesterday al Kumara of Mr Thomas Wills, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs J. Pool, Tui Street. Mr Wills, who had in recent months resided in Greymouth, was a native of Reefton, and for a period of over twenty years had worked in the quartz mining industry, in which he contracted the occuoational complaint, miners’ phthisis, hut later engaged in other occupations. He leaves two daughters. Mesdames Fool (Kumara). and Moss (Tinwald), and one son, Thomas (Ikamat.ua). He is also survived by two sisters, Mesdames J. Peare (Reefton), and Betts (North Island), and two brothers, James (Reefton), and Alfred (North Island). The funeral takes place to-morrow morning at Kumara.
