Mr J. P. Richmond, Postmaster at Runanga is on annual leave. Mr K. L. Wright, of the Chief Post Office, Greymouth, is at present relieving Postmaster at Runanga. Mr J. McDonnell, of the staff of the Westport Post Office, has been transferred to the Greymouth Post otnee as telephone exchange operator.
Mrs A. E. Watson, of Dunollie, accompanied by her two young sons, Thomas and Arthur, will leave oy this morning’s express on a holiday visit to New Brighton.
The_death occurred in private in Wellington last night of Sir Francis Vernon Frazer. He formerly was Judge of the Court of Arbitration ana morerecently was deputy-chairman oi the Executive Commission of Agriculture. He had been in failing health for some weeks. He went into hospital towards the end of March. He was in his 68th year.—Press Assn.

It is officially stated that Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands will again temporarily lay down office from May 14, for health reasons, according to a message from ' The Hague.. Princess Juliana will, act as Regent and take the oath of office. It is reliably learned that Queen Wilhelmina’s health is not declining, but she has a heavy year ahead, especially with the celebration of her jubilee, and rest has been advised.
