Sales of Hotels on West Coast
West Coast hotels have changed hands rather- rapidly in the last few months, at least seven transfers having been effected. Others will have new owners soon. The case of the Cobden Hotel (Morresey’s) which the owner, P. J. O’Donnell seeks to sell at £7OOO R. C. W. Morgan (Greymouth) will be considered by the Land. Sales Committee next Monday. Last Monday the committee at Hokitika sanctioned the transr fer of three hotels. In - its reserved decision on the proposed sale of the Empire Hotel at Hokitika from T. and M. S. Sherrif to D. H. and . K. Thomas, the committee approved of sale at £5OOO (a reduction of £soo)i Sales of other properties approved were those of the New Occidental Hotel, at Hokitika; and the Three Mile Hotel, near Hokitika. In the latter case the price approved was £3512 (a reduction, of £88), including £5OO for furniture and stock. The vendor was R. Blackler and the buyers W. R. Burns and V. R. Lundquist. The price for the New Occidental Was £5BlO (including £9OO for furniture and stock), the vendor being H. Lucas and the buyer R. Dickie. Other applications granted at Hokitika were:—
Presbyterian Church Property Trustees, to M. H. Houston, Hokitika, price £150; C’. A. Cooper to R. Fox, Kanieri, price £6O; C. Kelly to Butler Bros., Ruatapu, price £360; E. F. Pattinson to J. A. Brown, Ashmore Avenue, Cobden, price £1825 (a reduction of £25).
