Communists in Canada Indoctrinate Children

OTTAWA, April 17. The Montreal police last night raided what, they termed a wellorganised Communist school for children of Ukrainian descent. They questioned the teacher and about 12 children, aged from 10 to 15, several of whom could not speak English, and also siezed school books. The police said the children informed them that most of the lectures dealt with the Soviet Union’s achievements in the Ukraine. Among the books seized were textbooks dealing with the Russian Revolution.

The children had also formed a band and played pieces like “Stalin, Our Hero” and the “Red Army March.”

The raid was made under the provisions of the provincial “padlock” law. The police said it was up to the Attorney-General to decide whether a padlocking order against the premises should be issued.
