Police Seek Promoters of Unrest on Singapore Wharves

(Rec. 10.25) SINGAPORE, April 19 A large number of arrests are reported to have been made during a surprise raid in the early hours oi this morning by about, one hundred members of th? Auxiliary Police on the living quarters of labourers at Tanjong Pagar, which is Singapore’s wharves’ area. There have been a great number of Singapore wharf labourers on strike during the past week. The auxiliary police, who belong to the Singapore harbour authority, in their raid, were after ringleaders of the Triad gang, who use a pink ticket, with the insignia of a flaming'torcch, in a clenched fist on on side, and a yellow star on the other side. This card has been seen several times during the last few days of labour unrest.
