Jews Take Military Maps From British
(Rec. 10.40) JERUSALEM, Jan. 20. Jewish sources reported that armed Jew’s raided the Palestine Government’s survey office in Tel Aviv last night, and seized a large number ot ordnance maps. European Recruits for Palestine Army ROME, Jan. 19. The president of the Zionist Federation of Italy, Carlo Viterbo, said that over 10,000 Jewish men were ready to go to Palestine to defend the new Jewish State. Several thousand European Jews had already left Italy secretly in the past 30 months and more were going every month. R.A.F. PLANES~OVER EGYPT CAIRO, Jan. 19. The British Charge d’Affaires at Cairo has protested to the Egyptian authorities against the action of Egyptian Air Force Spitfires in firing on a Royal Air Force Anson and Proctor when the latter were flying from Palestine to Egypt. The Spitfires holed one of the Proctor’s wings. There were no casualties. The British planes were off their course. The E'gyotian planes fired on them after they had passed a forbidden area.
