CRICKET BALLS FOR HOLLYWOOD STAR

Six Australian cricket balls have been sent to Sir C. Aubrey Smith, veteran screen actor who once played for England in a Test match in Australia.

The balls are a gift from the Australian Ambassador to the United States, Mr Makin. Sir Aubrey, though 84, still coaches several Hollywood teams, and mentioned, when Mr Makin visited Hollywood that cricket balls were scarce. Mr Makin’s request to W. A. (Bert) Oldfield in Sydney got results.
