RUGBY LEAGUE Promising Fourth Graders

Playing for Marist fourth grade team against St. Joseph’s last Sunday, I. King proved himself a good wing three-quarter, with his splendid tackling and cover defencive play, and scored one good try with a determined run down the side-line, while on several other occasions he was tackled short of the line. J. Brown, first as wing three-quarter, and later as five-eighths, played outstanding League, being particularly dangerous every time he received the ball, with a good swerve and sidestep, combined well with his team mates, both on attack and defence. L. Ward, forward, played excellent football in the Marist team and made one good run to the opposing team’s full-back, where he sent on to his five-eighths, who scored a good try. T. Franklyn and B. Rooney played good football in the Green forwards, and they were in the thick of the play throughout, besides giving splendid assistance to their team-mates in the forward play.
