Administrators of Rugby League in Australia are distraught as star players continue to accept contracts to play in England. , One sports writer recently made this comment: — “Apart from vanquishing Australia on the field England has beaten our legislators on the chessboard of official moves ... As long as England is allowed to poach on. the rest of the Empire we will always have an uphill struggle for the Ashes.
