WELLINGTON CRACKSMEN’S COUP
WELLINGTON, May 23. A haul valued at about £2OO was made by thieves who last night broke into a Ghuznee Street jewellery shop. It was the second jewellery robbery in Wellington within a week. Between 5 p.m. and 6.15 this morning, admission was gained by forcing
the front door of the shop. Necklets, wedding ring.?, brooches, diamond rings, and ladies’ watches were among the missing, and also cash totalling £42 was stolen. No attempt was made on a safe. About 10.30 last night two men were disturbed in the premises of an Adelaide road tailor. Both escaped. Nothing was stolen.
