A doctor in Norwich has written a complaint, in a letter to the British Medical Journal, that three times this years he has abandoned very important engagements while awaiting overdue confinements. The doctor points out lawyers have a “refresher” fee per day, marked on their brief, .and he says. “It ought to be possible for doctors to adopt somewhat similar course—a retaining fee for every day or week, over the booked date.”
