GREEK GUERRILLAS TO HAVE AMNESTY ON SURRENDERING

(Rec. 10.30). ATHENS, May 21. The Prime Minister of Greece, M. Maximos, announced that the Government would renew its amnesty for the guerrillas for an indefinite period. He stated that impartial foreign observers would be invited to witness the fair and equitable treatment of the guerrillas who surrendered. The amnesty, he added, would be contingent upon the U.N.O. Security Council’s agreement to effective measures to seal Greece’s northern frontiers, and to prevent any further aid going to the guerrillas from outside of Greece.
