U.N.O. and Press Freedom

(Rec. 7.45) NEW YORK, May 20. A sub-committee of the United Nations on the freedom of information and of the press, decided, to-day, that a world conference on the question of freedom, of information and of the press should be held in Europe. A date for one was set tentatively in March or April next. The Russian representative on the subcommittee suggested Europe as a conference site, so that non-Euro-peans would be able see how freedom of information has been broadened in Europe since the defeat of Nazism.
