“TELEPATHISTS” TO TRY TO OUTDO RADIO
WELLINGTON, May 21. . A unique experiment in telepathy will be conducted shortly in an Empire link-up in which journalists in the various Dominions will concentrate on self-chosen brief messages at a certain time. In London, Maurice Fogel, a 34-year-old British ex-serviceman, will concentrate in a laboratory in the presence of Empire press representatives in an endeavour to receive messages from South Africa, India, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. If the experiment is successful it will be the first of its kind achieved oversuch distances under strict supervision. Each of the journalists in. the Dominions involved has already sent to London in a sealed envelope the message upon which he will concentrate at the appointed time, these to be opened when Mr Fogel .announces what impressions he has received. Mr Fogel recently received a correct telepathic impression outside of the chance of collusion from Professor Rhine, a reputable scientist at Duke University, America. The Ijorthcoming Empire experiment wiU be notified, as soon as the result is known, by press cable —not telepathy.
