Thieves Ransack Westport Residence

The theft of £5 in cash and three fountain pens from the residence of Mr and Mrs G. Powell, Russell street Westport, is being investigated by the police. The house was entered and ransacked by thieves during the absence of the occupants at the pictures on Saturday night. The thieves were evidently sure that they would not be disturbed. They pulled down the blinds, and lighted matches to find the electric light switches, leaving burnt matches lying on the floor.
