New Flight Record

CAPETOWN, May 1. An R.A.F'. Mosquito, piloted by an Australian, Squadron-Leader H. B. Martin, to-day broke the London to Capetown air record by 10 hours 50 minutes. The Mosquito touched down at Capetown after a flight of 21 hours 31 minutes. The R.A.F. Lancaster “Aires I” established tho previous record in 1945. Martin said: “It was just a canter.” He added that the whole trip was so well organised that the plane just had . to break the record.
