TANKER TO BE BROKEN UP

AUCKLAND, March 23,

A. veteran naval oil tanker, the Nucula, which was offered for sale by tender by the War Assets Realisation Board last months, after more than 30 years’ service, has been purchased by the Penrose Engineering and iron foundry firm of A. C. Ratcliffe, Limited, for scrapping. The Nucula, which is now a hulk on the upper Auckland harbour, will be dismantled at her anchorage, and her hull will then be towed to sea and sunk.
