Rarely, if ever, has any movie audience been treated to so spectacularly beautiful a production as 20th. Century Fox’s magnificent filming of Will James’ beloved classic ‘‘Smoky,” starring Fred McMurray (as a rugged and danger-loving cow-puncher), with Anne Baxtei(as a hard riding owner of the ranch on which McMurray keeps a rendezvous with fate), and introducing ballad singer Burt Ives (famous troubador) it is at once a great and heart warming motion picture experience in the tradition of the memorable “Flicka” screen triumph. “Smoky” is a grand story of the West of to-day with the rousing spirit of the West of yesteryear. It is the story of one man’s love of danger, and of one woman’s love of a man, and of the events that patterned their livls into a great and thrilling adventure.
