Monte Cassino Monastery to be Restored
VATICAN, CITY, March 20. . The Pope has appealed in an Encyclical Letter to the Catholic Church for help in restoring the warshattered Benedictine abbey of Monte Cassino, which dates back to the sixth century. The occasion of the Encyclical is the 1400th anniversary of the death of Saint Benedict, the founder of the Benedictine Order, who established the monastery.
