N.Z. ARMY
150 Instructors to be Recruited (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 15. The Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) announced that steps are being taken to reconstitute the army, of which the Regular’ Force is the nucleus, and to fill some of the vacancies in the Regular Force caused by casualties and retirements. The primary need is for instructors, especially in artillery, signals, infantry, E.M.E., and A.S.C. To meet this need, it is intended to obtain enlistments of 150 men, and applications are now being called for. Preference will be given to returned servicemen and present serving members of the army, including J Force. It is intended in the near future to make good deficiencies in. officer ranks by calling for applications from former N.Z.E.F. officers.
