Obituary
MR S. O. KEOGHAN The death occurred at Westport yesterday of Mr Sigismund Owen Keoghan, a well-known and highly respected resident of the Buller district, aged 84 years. The late Mr Keoghan was born in Nelson in 1862, and followed the varied occupations of farming, sawmilling, and gold mining in the Takaka, Collingwood, and Buller districts. In his early days, he was well-known in musical circles. He was predeceased by hN wife eight years ago, and is survived by three sons, Wilfred Hill), Jack (Westport), and Frank (Wellington). His eldest son. Leslie, was killed at Gallipoli in 1914. The funeral will take place to-morrow morning. MRS C. STEVENS The death occurred at Napier on Sunday last of Mrs Caroline Stevens, daughter of Mrs Martin (Wellington), and the late Mr G. Martin, of Westport. Deceased, who was well-known in the Buller district, waS born at Westport, and for some years was on the teaching staff of the Westport primary school. Her untimely death will come as a sad blow to her husband and son, and to her relatives and many friends. Her only relatives in Westport are a sister, Mrs J. Kelly, and a brother, Mr Jim Martin.
