FORMER AMBASSADOR TO LONDON. (Rec. 8.50). TOKIO, Mav 16. Shigeru Yoshida, at present Foreign Minister and former Japanese Ambassador to London, will lead the next Japanese Government. General MacArthur notified the Japanese Government that, he had no objection to Yoshida becoming Premier, following an announcement that Yoshida had accepted the presidency of the Liberal Party. Yoshida was arrested by the Japanese towards the end of the war because he was believed to favour peace negotiations.
