WELLINGTON, January 28. The Secretary of the New Zealand Olympic Association, Mr H. Amos, received a letter from the ActingPresident of the International Olympic Committee, Mr J. Sigfrid Edstrom, requesting the New Zealand Olympic Council to indicate its preference for the venue of the proposed games in 1948. The New Zealand OlympicExecutive unanimously decided to vote for London, and the secretary was instructed to advise its representative on the International Olympic Committee, Doctor Arthur E. Porritt, accordingly. STOCKHOLM, January 27. Finland is staging miniature Olympic Games this summer, which will be held at Helsinki in June. At least 26,000 athletes and gymnasts are expected to compete, mostly from Scandanavian countries.
