(Rec. 9.5) SYDNEY, Nov. 23 In the semi-finals of (the New South Wales tennis championships, Bromwich defeated Hopman 7/5, 6/2, 6/1, and Pails defeated Brown 6/4, 8/6, 6/1, Bromwich, after his discharge from the services, is playing just as well, if not better, than he fore the war. Pails and Brown are young aspirants for the Australian Davis Cup team. Both play an attacking game, similar to the Ameriand both have terrific services. Quist has been unable to play in the singles championship, because of a tennis elbow.
